Duplex Ultrasound study of the carotid arteries
Fat deposits and calcifications of the carotid arteries (Neck arteries supplying the brain) is the commonest cause of stroke. Such deposits commonly develop, because of high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels and smoking.
Such deposits should be diagnosed early in order to initiate aggressive medical treatment and ultimately avoid a stroke.
Moreover, the study gives us reliable and precious information about the condition and structure of the other arteries in the body.
